Golden princes of Buffalo, NY hardcore, Every Time I Die have bestowed upon us the perfect pair of singles and the right amount of nuclear grade anger to close out this year with their double single release of A Colossal Wreck/Desprate Pleasures. It’s kinda hard to talk about one of these singles without the other as they feel so interconnected in both sound and theme. These duo of screaming indictments of the current American moment borrow a namesake and some phrases from Journalist/Historian Alexander Cockburn, “Colossal Wreck” being Cockburn’s final work before his death in 2012. Keith Buckley’s pained screams naming our age, “We’re living in the golden age of bastards'' is delivered with the impassioned anger that shared sentiment deserves. Overall, I love these two tracks and can’t wait to see the full release from these guys.
