Meet WIVES

Vintage photography loving post-punk rockers Wives drops by to give the family a few choice words. Forged in the fires of 2019 Wives released their first album “So Removed”.

Wives are a cool group of fellas. Intern playing their music really loud makes you cool. I poped the record on and walked up and down my block. People who saw me remarked that I was in fact cooler than when I was listening to other music. It’s all true and there’s more of it down there in our interview with Wives.

THE OBSERVATORY a Mad-lib by, WIVES

Our class went on a field trip to a TALL.observatory. It was located on top of a BUCKET, and it looked like a giant SILVERWARE with a slit down its REFRIGERATOR. We went inside and looked through some DANDRUFF and were able to see FLAMINGOS in the sky that were millions of ANTIBIOTICS away. The men and women who PINCH in the observatory are called TOES, and they are always watching for comets, eclipses, and shooting PEOPLE. An eclipse occurs when a SKIN comes between the earth and the BOOKMARK and everything gets BRUISED. Next week, we plan to SUFFOCATE the Museum of Modern NECKBONES.

Would You Rather

only eat burritos or pizza for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Pizza.

Some questions with WIVES

What is objectively the best-drunk food, and why?

Pad Kee Mao. There's a reason they call it “drunken noodles.”

What was the experience like recording your 2019 album “So Removed”? Did the process teach you anything?

The recording was a blast when we got a chance to. But we always had to sneak into studios after hours. The process taught us to try and not be so poor. Or do it in a basement.

Where is the best music store in New York City?

It's actually a bookstore called: Molasses Books.

What is the best topping that has ever been invented?

Topping for what?

What makes a performance a success to you?

If it feels good and everybody goes bananas.

What is your favorite park in New York City?

Grover Cleveland

What has been your biggest high as a band?

Just getting the opportunity to make music with all our friends.

What is the story behind the photography on the cover of your 2019 album “So Removed”

Our beautiful A & R person, Krista Schmidt, found it at a flea market. We tried to incorporate it into our original design until it finally took over.

What three things would you demand to be in your dressing room?

Alcohol and chairs.

What is your dream neighborhood to live in, and why?

I want to live in Chinatown one day.

What do you like best about the music scene in NYC?

It feels like a true community, not like a bunch of rich kids trying to get famous.

Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)

Damn the Man.
